Level 2 First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)
Mental Health in the Workplace is becoming significantly popular and the need to identify and understand mental health is increasingly important. According to Mind UK, it is estimated that 20.6 in 100 people have suicidal thoughts, additionally, 6.7 in 100 people have suicide attempts, and 7.3 in 100 people self-harm. Therefore, having the knowledge of mental health and identifying those who are experiencing suicidal thoughts is important in saving lives.
Course Content
When you attend our 1-day Mental Health First Aid course you will have an understanding of what is Mental Health, identify mental health conditions, provide advice and start a conversation, and complete a Mental health action plan.
Thereupon, by completing this Level 2 Course you will understand;
- Know what mental health is, why people develop mental health conditions, and the role of a First Aider for mental health
- How to provide advice and practical support for a person presenting a mental health condition
- Know how to recognise and manage stress
- How to recognise a range of mental health conditions
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Psychosis
- Eating disorders
- Suicide
- Self-harm
- Understand the impact of substance abuse on mental health
- Understand the first aid action plan for mental health and be able to put it in place
- Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace
